Why does female urine turn yellow? what to do?

Yellow urine refers to the color of urine being yellow or yellowish brown. The causes of yellow urine include normal physiological factors, such as many people's morning urine being yellower, or taking certain medications causing yellow urine. So what are the common reasons why women’s urine turns yellow?

1. Liver and kidney diseases

In clinical examinations, yellow urine is divided into two categories: one is bilirubinuria and the other is urobiligenuria.

① Bilirubinuria refers to the bilirubin in the gallbladder entering the blood circulation. The reason is generally that the bile duct is invaded by inflammation and the bile duct ruptures, causing bile to enter the blood.

② Urobilinogenuria is caused by liver damage. Liver damage increases the intestinal absorption of urobilinogen, and when urobilinogen dissolves into urine, yellow urine appears. In addition, people with hemolytic anemia will have massive destruction of red blood cells, and urobilinogen will also be absorbed through the intestines, causing the liver to be unable to convert a large amount of urobilinogen into bilirubin, which will also cause urobilinogenuria.

2. Yellow morning urine

If your first urine after getting up in the morning is yellow, don't worry. Because after a whole night of rest, the urine in the body will be concentrated, the waste content will be higher, and the color will be yellower. Especially when you drink less water, the color of your morning urine will be darker. This is normal and there is no need to worry.

3. Drug-induced yellow urine

Certain drugs contain riboflavin which can cause yellow urine. Furazolidone and metronidazole can also cause yellow urine. Other drugs that can cause yellow urine include rhubarb. The yellow urine will disappear after stopping the medication, so there is no need to worry about this type of yellow urine.

4. Diet and Inflammation

Sometimes, because of a preference for a certain taste, such as spicy food, people often choose such food. Some people also often choose meat and rarely eat fruits and vegetables. The result of these unreasonable diets, according to Chinese medicine, will lead to an imbalance of yin and yang in the body, and eventually cause internal inflammation. One of the manifestations is yellow urine. In response to this type of situation, it is recommended to eat more vegetables and fruits, and consume more seasonal vegetables and fruits. If you experience blisters at the corners of your mouth, painful and bleeding gums, toothaches, and yellow urine for several consecutive days, it can be diagnosed as inflammation.

5. Yellow urine during intercourse

Many women will have yellow urine after having sex, and the urine has an unpleasant odor. Sometimes it is caused by condoms, but most of the time this yellow urine is generally caused by reproductive system diseases, with inflammation being the most common.

6. Drinking too little water

When we drink too little water while cycling or going out for fun, our urine will definitely turn yellow. At this time, you need to replenish a lot of water. For water cups of about 200ml, you can regulate your drinking as follows: one cup of water when you wake up in the morning, two cups of water in the morning, one cup of water at noon, two cups of water in the afternoon, and two cups of water in the evening. Make reasonable drinking of water a habit and don't drink only when you feel thirsty.

7. Too much stress

If you are too nervous mentally, your urine will inevitably turn yellow. Many studies have shown that when people are overly nervous or angry, the body will produce a large amount of toxins, which will be filtered through the kidneys and produce yellow urine, which will damage the liver and kidneys. Being in a state of depression for a long time is very harmful to the body. It is recommended that everyone learn to decompress appropriately.

8. Food causes yellow urine

Eating fruits and vegetables with natural pigments, such as carrots, can also change the color of your urine. However, this phenomenon is only temporary. If you drink a few more cups of water, it will gradually return to normal.
