What is personality disorder? You need to know this

The so-called personality disorder is a type of psychological disease. There are many types of personality disorder, mainly including autism, narcissistic personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, etc. The symptoms of each type are different.

(I) The main characteristics of narcissistic personality disorder are as follows:

1. Reacting to criticism with anger, shame, or humiliation (although this may not be immediately expressed).

2. Like to order others around and ask them to serve you.

3. Being overly arrogant, exaggerating one's own talents, and hoping to receive special attention.

4. Firmly believe that the issues he is concerned about are unique in the world and cannot be understood by certain special people.

5. Having inappropriate fantasies about unlimited success, power, honor, beauty, or ideal love.

6. Believe that you deserve privileges that others do not have.

7. Craves constant attention and praise.

8. Lack of empathy.

9. Have a strong sense of jealousy.

(2) Histrionic personality disorder is a personality disorder characterized by excessive emotionality and the use of exaggerated words and actions to attract attention. This type of people have changeable emotions and are easily influenced by the suggestions of others. They often hope to be praised and admired by their leaders and colleagues. They are willing to be in the spotlight and actively participate in various activities with many people. They often attract attention by dramatic appearance, words and deeds. They are often emotional, judge things based on their likes and dislikes, like to fantasize, and their words and actions are often far from the facts.

(iii) Schizoid personality disorder They mainly show a lack of warmth and have difficulty establishing deep emotional connections with others. Therefore, their interpersonal relationships are generally poor. They seem to be detached from the mundane world, unable to enjoy the various pleasures of the world, such as the communion between husband and wife, the joy of family reunions, etc., and they also lack the ability to express delicate human emotions. Therefore, most patients with schizoid personality disorder are single. Even if they get married, most of them end up in divorce. Generally speaking, this type of people are indifferent to other people's opinions, and are unmoved by either praise or criticism. They live a lonely life. Some of them may have some hobbies, but most of them are quiet, passive activities such as reading, appreciating music, and thinking. Some people may also indulge in a certain profession all their lives and achieve higher achievements. But generally speaking, such people lead dull and monotonous lives, lack creativity and independence, and find it difficult to adapt to the ever-changing life in modern society.

(IV) Aggressive personality disorder is a personality disorder characterized by obvious impulsive behavior and emotions , also known as explosive or impulsive personality disorder, which usually has the following characteristics.

1. Irritable and easily angered, with uncontrollable impulses and drives.

2. The personality often shows outward aggression, recklessness and impulsiveness.

3. The motivation for impulse can be conscious or unconscious.

4. Actions are erratic and can be planned or unplanned. There is a strong sense of tension before the action, and a sense of pleasure, satisfaction or relaxation after the action, without any real regret, self-destruction or guilt.

5. Incomplete and immature psychological development often leads to psychological imbalance.

6. Prone to bad behavior and criminal tendencies.

(V) Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder: They pay excessive attention to whether their behavior is normal and whether their manners are appropriate, so they behave in a particularly rigid manner. If you have the habit of counting the electric poles on the roadside when walking, check them repeatedly after locking the door. They are overly suspicious, lack self-confidence, always have a sense of imperfection, are overly cautious, follow the rules, stick to the conventions, and rarely try to be innovative or creative. Because they pursue perfection and completeness in everything, they always check and verify everything they do for fear of making mistakes. They also often require others to act according to their own way of thinking and habits, sometimes interfering with the freedom of others.
