Does bee venom have any side effects on the human body?

Bee venom is a toxin secreted by bees. In recent years, bee venom has been used to treat diseases with good results. Of course, this is different from being stung by bees in daily life. Clinically, bee venom has a certain therapeutic effect on many diseases. Of course, bee venom is not a panacea. In clinical practice, bee venom cannot be used to treat some diseases, such as cholecystitis, diabetes, hepatitis, nephritis and other diseases.

Does bee venom have any side effects on the body?

Bee venom is a transparent liquid with a fragrant smell secreted by the venom glands and accessory glands of worker bees. It is stored in the venom sac and discharged through the stinger when stinging. It is generally a transparent liquid with a special aromatic smell, bitter taste and acidic reaction. Bee venom therapy is generally a treatment method that introduces bee venom into the human body. There are currently a variety of bee venom treatment methods in clinical practice. The most common ones are the following: bee sting, bee acupuncture therapy, bee venom ion introduction, bee venom injection, ultrasonic penetration, infrared introduction, bee venom atomization inhalation, bee venom ointment, external plaster, bee venom external ointment, bee venom tablets and capsules, etc. So is this method safe? Let’s find out together.

In fact, no matter which treatment method is used, an allergy test must be conducted before treatment to observe whether the subject is allergic to bee venom. If not, bee venom can be used for treatment. Of course, during treatment, patients should also note that bee venom can treat many types of diseases, and the effect is indeed good, but bee venom cannot be said to be a panacea. In clinical practice, the use of bee venom should be prohibited for patients with hepatitis, nephritis, sexually transmitted diseases, diabetes, cholecystitis, diabetes insipidus, and diseases with bleeding tendencies. Use with caution on the elderly and children.

Four ways of bee venom therapy you should know

1. Bee sting method: This is the oldest method and has a long history of application. This method is still widely used today because the bee sting can allow all the venom to enter the body, so it is very effective. The specific method is: wash the stung area with warm water and soap before treatment, then use tweezers to hold the bee and place it in the selected position, so that the bee will pierce the skin with its stinger, and remove the stinger after 4 to 5 minutes when the venom is drained. After treatment for bee stings, the patient should be observed for 10 to 60 minutes to see if there are any adverse reactions. Treatment must be performed by a doctor. Generally, one bee is used to sting on the first day, and one bee is added every day thereafter, until 10 bees are used on the tenth day. This is one course of treatment. After resting for 4 to 5 days, the second course of treatment can be carried out, which is to use 3 bees to sting continuously every day for 42 days. If the condition does not improve after two courses of treatment, it means that bee venom therapy is ineffective and should be discontinued.

2. Bee acupuncture therapy: Bee acupuncture therapy is a combination of bee sting therapy and traditional Chinese acupuncture, using bee stings instead of steel needles used in acupuncture. The method is: according to the time the patient comes for consultation, use the ZW-82 meridian calculator to calculate the acupuncture points or meridians that should be selected at that hour, and then use tweezers to catch a bee and sting the selected acupuncture points. Because bee acupuncture therapy is more refined and more effective than the original bee sting therapy, it was quickly introduced from my country to Japan, North Korea, Malaysia and other countries.

3. Bee venom ion introduction method: Although bee therapy and bee acupuncture are both very effective, patients are afraid of pain and living bees are difficult to preserve, so someone invented the bee venom ion introduction method. The specific method is: first mix bee venom freeze-dried powder and physiological saline into a solution of a certain proportion, then soak the pad evenly with the solution, and connect the power supply at both poles, using direct current to introduce bee venom ions into the body through undamaged skin. After treatment, the skin is slightly congested, slightly swollen and slightly itchy.

4. Bee venom injection method: Bee venom is made into various preparations and then injected subcutaneously to treat diseases. This method is simple and easy and is not limited by region, season, or live bees. However, since volatile substances are easily lost when producing bee venom preparations, the effect is not as good as the above method.
