Sleeping posture of baby with cerebral palsy

Sleeping posture of baby with cerebral palsy

If a child has cerebral palsy, he or she will often show many symptoms in life. The child will also show certain symptoms when sleeping, such as the child being stiff, not liking to exercise, having less exercise when sleeping, often assuming the frog posture, or the W-shaped posture, etc. Parents should closely observe their children's symptoms. Once any abnormality is found, the earlier the treatment is started, the better the effect will be.

Sleeping posture of baby with cerebral palsy

1. Baby's W-shaped posture

The baby's body is stiff and he doesn't like to move. His limbs are bent and always stick to the bed, similar to the letter "W", with both the upper and lower limbs in the shape of a "W". Babies born in breech presentation often have their lower limbs in a "W" shape, but most of these will disappear by the time the baby is about one year old. The W-shaped posture is an abnormal posture of children with cerebral palsy and is a measure to diagnose cerebral palsy in children.

2. Baby frog position

No matter the baby is in any position, including lying on his back or sitting, he will look like a frog, so it is called the frog posture. The baby-shaped posture is one of the common postures in children with cerebral palsy and can be clearly seen when the baby's trunk and limbs are pressed against the bed. When diagnosing cerebral palsy in children, S-shaped hand gestures are also one of the symptoms of cerebral palsy.

3. Baby's inverted V-shaped posture

The baby's body is soft and weak, and his head cannot be controlled well, always shaking back and forth and left and right. When the baby is held up, his limbs and head are facing downwards, and his body is convex, like an inverted V. This is also one of the early symptoms of cerebral palsy.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has some understanding of the issue of judging whether a baby has cerebral palsy by posture. Cerebral palsy is a disease that requires parents to discover it early and help the baby with treatment in time. I hope the baby with cerebral palsy can recover soon.
