What to do if your three-year-old baby doesn't have bowel movements

Babies nowadays are almost growing up in a honey pot. The adults in the family revolve around one child every day. If the baby has any health problems, the parents will be very worried. For example, the problem of a three-year-old baby not defecating is a headache for parents. Parents don’t know why such a young child always does not defecate. Will there be a problem if this keeps happening? What should they do if a three-year-old baby does not defecate?

1. Massage the baby's abdomen to help digestion. When the baby has mild constipation, parents can massage the baby's abdomen to help the child's gastrointestinal motility and promote digestion. Be careful not to use too much force when massaging, because when constipated, feces will be retained in the intestines. If the massage force is too strong, the baby's stomach will easily feel uncomfortable. If it is cold, especially in winter, parents need to rub their palms to warm them up before massaging the baby, so that the baby will not resist because of the cold palms of adults.

2. Drink more water to regulate the intestinal environment. Water is an indispensable substance for humans, especially for patients with constipation. When you are constipated, your stool will definitely be dry and hard, so it is difficult to excrete. Drinking more water can increase the moisture in the intestines, promote intestinal fluid secretion, regulate the intestinal environment, soften hard stool, and make it easier to excrete.

In addition, if the baby has not defecated for three days, eating some fruits can help relieve the problem. Some fruits have the effect of moisturizing the intestines and are also helpful for the baby's intestinal health recovery.

Bananas are not as good as apples for treating constipation. In daily life, many people believe that eating bananas can help moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements, so some people with constipation often eat bananas. However, for some people, bananas not only fail to solve constipation, but instead cause dry and hard stools. Apples are rich in dietary fiber and pectin, so they can play a two-way regulatory role in relieving constipation. When the stool is dry and hard, eating more apples can help moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements.
