How to improve hematopoietic function

How to improve hematopoietic function

Blood is the body's nutrient fluid, which can transport the nutrients needed by the human body to all parts of the body. Once the hematopoietic function is impaired, it will have serious effects on the human body and even endanger life, so improving the human body's hematopoietic function is the basis for maintaining human health. So how can people improve their hematopoietic function in daily life? Experts suggest that hematopoietic function can be improved through food.

What is hematopoietic dysfunction

Hematopoietic dysfunction can be caused by a variety of reasons and is relatively common in clinical practice. For example, with the increase in the incidence of tumors, some cancer patients will experience severe bone marrow suppression, insufficient hematopoietic function, and further decreased immunity after using high-dose radiotherapy and chemotherapy, thus forming a vicious circle.

Symptoms of poor hematopoiesis

Patients with weak hematopoietic function will have an anemic face, pale skin, easy bleeding, dizziness, poor resistance, and physical weakness. This symptom is most likely to occur in young people entering middle age, and the symptoms gradually become obvious. Weakened hematopoietic function will eventually lead to anemia, bleeding, dizziness, and in severe cases, life-threatening.

Causes of poor hematopoiesis

1. Not paying attention to nutritional balance in diet, and insufficient intake of hematopoietic raw materials;

2. The human body's hematopoietic function is impaired. In adults, the body's blood-forming factories are in the bone marrow and lymphatic tissue. The bone marrow that produces blood cells is mainly red bone marrow. The red bone marrow of adults is mainly found in the medullary cavity of flat bones such as the sternum, skull, ribs, spine and pelvis. The weight of an adult's bone marrow is 1,600 to 3,700 grams, with an average of 2,600 grams, which is equivalent to the size of the liver. Blood cells grow and develop into mature blood cells in the bone marrow and then enter the blood circulation.

It is now known that all blood cells originate from multipotent hematopoietic stem cells. Multipotent hematopoietic stem cells are distributed in the bone marrow and can differentiate into blood cells such as granulocytes, red cells, megakaryocytes and lymphocytes under different environments and conditions. There is also an extremely complex production and regulation system that ensures the balance of blood cell production and destruction in the body.

What foods can enhance hematopoiesis?

1. It is advisable to eat more blood-enriching foods;

2. Eat more nutritious foods rich in "hematopoietic raw materials", such as high-quality protein, essential trace elements (iron, copper, etc.), folic acid and vitamin B12;

3. It is advisable to eat foods that can replenish qi, nourish the kidneys, and strengthen the spleen;

4. The iron content in vegetables is low and poorly absorbed, but fresh green vegetables are rich in folic acid. Folic acid is involved in the production of hemoglobin. Folic acid deficiency can cause macrocytic anemia and mixed anemia. Therefore, you should also eat more vegetables.

How to improve hematopoietic function

Eat more green vegetables and foods high in iron, such as egg yolks, beef, liver, kidney, kelp, beans, etc. Do not drink tea, as the tannic acid in tea will hinder the absorption of iron. People with gastric acid deficiency (such as atrophic gastritis, after gastrectomy) can take some dilute hydrochloric acid orally. Hydrochloric acid can liberate the iron in food, increase the solubility of iron salts, and facilitate absorption. Eating some vitamin C is beneficial to the absorption of iron in food. When using a traditional iron pan to fry food, the friction between the pan and the spatula will produce many tiny debris. During the heating process, the iron can dissolve in the food, so the iron pan is a good blood-replenishing vessel. How to improve hematopoietic function: Animal liver is rich in iron and vitamin A, as well as relatively rich folic acid. Vitamin A helps the absorption and utilization of iron. Eating liver once a week is beneficial for preventing anemia.
