Tinea corporis is a common skin disease. Sometimes it is caused by contact with unclean things, especially unclean bathtubs and bath towels. To prevent tinea corporis, you must develop good hygiene habits, keep your skin dry and clean, and avoid infection. 1. Causes of tinea corporis Pathogen factors (60%): In my country, this disease is mainly caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton philoprolifera, Microsporum ferrugineum, and Microsporum canis. Other reasons (20%): It can also spread from the patient's existing tinea manuum, tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea onychomycosis, tinea capitis, etc. The incidence of the disease is closely related to the body's resistance. Patients with diabetes, wasting disease, etc. are more likely to suffer from tinea corporis. Lifestyle factors (10%): The disease can be caused by direct or indirect contact between the patient and the patient's contaminated bathtub, bath towel, etc. 2. Care for tinea corporis 1. Public facilities that cannot be separated, such as bathtubs, should be disinfected before use. Patients who have already suffered from various fungal diseases should receive timely treatment. Avoid contact with animals with ringworm, especially cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. 2. In the humid weather of summer, fungi reproduce actively, which is the main time when tinea corporis occurs. Once the skin is infected by fungi, it can cause skin diseases such as tinea pedis, tinea manuum, tinea faciens, and tinea corporis. Therefore, we must pay great attention to preventing tinea corporis in summer. Since the fungus prefers a humid and warm environment, the most suitable temperature for growth is 25℃-26℃. In the summer, many people walk out of the shower wearing wet slippers, which creates opportunities for the reproduction of anaerobic bacteria and mold. At this time, patients with skin diseases should keep the affected area dry and wipe off the water after washing hands or taking a shower. 3. To prevent tinea corporis, you need to develop good hygiene habits, keep your skin clean and dry, and change clothes and wash quilts frequently. Tinea corporis is a contagious disease, so direct contact with people suffering from tinea corporis should be avoided. Do not use public slippers, bath towels, and foot basins provided in public places such as hotels and inns. Use disposable slippers, towels, and other sanitary ware as much as possible. Bedding provided for guests in public service places such as hotels and inns should be provided in sets per person to avoid infection and should be disinfected after use. 4. Families with the conditions should encourage the separate use of sanitary ware and bedding as much as possible, with one set for each person. If a family member is already ill, early isolation should be emphasized to avoid cross-infection among family members. |
