What to do if there is a lipoma on the waist

What to do if there is a lipoma on the waist

Lipomas are soft aggregates of fat cells that can occur anywhere. When a lipoma is just formed, the human body generally will not feel anything, and it will not have any adverse effects on the body. However, if the situation continues, the lipoma may evolve into a malignant tumor, eventually affecting human health. Therefore, lipoma should be treated promptly when it is first diagnosed.

Is it serious to have a lot of lipomas on the waist?

Lipomas generally occur in the trunk, limbs, and abdominal cavity. There is a clear boundary between lipoma and surrounding tissue; lipoma is soft in texture, grows slowly, and most are small in size. This tumor is composed of differentiated and mature fat cells, and the tumor tissue is divided into fat lobules of varying sizes by fibrous cords.

Lipoma on the waist is the most common benign tumor on the body surface. It can occur in any structure with adipose tissue, but is most common on the body surface and in the breast. It mostly occurs in obese female patients, and the age of onset is mostly between 30 and 50 years old. The main manifestations are single, round or lobed soft masses with clear boundaries, slow growth, and very few malignant changes. Treatment is mainly surgical resection. However, the surgery should be thorough; if there is any residue, it will inevitably cause recurrence. The resected tissue should be sent for pathological examination to avoid missed diagnosis due to the combination of other tumors.

Lipoma is a benign tumor that grows under the skin. It often appears in the shoulders, abdomen, back, ears, etc. It can be single shot or multiple shot.

The main treatment methods are as follows:

First, Chinese herbal medicine is used to treat brain lipoma.

(1) Treatment: For the Qi deficiency type, treatment should be based on strengthening the spleen and replenishing Qi, resolving phlegm and dispersing nodules. Medicinal use: 30 grams of Astragalus, 15 grams each of ginseng and angelica, 12 grams each of Poria, Atractylodes, and Polygala, 10 grams each of Linderae scutellariae, Cyperus rotundus, Costusroot, Fritillaria, Tangerine peel, and Ligusticum chuanxiong, 6 grams of licorice, and 7 dates.

(2) For the treatment of qi stagnation type, it is advisable to soothe the liver and relieve depression, resolve phlegm and disperse nodules. Medicinal use: 15 grams of angelica, 12 grams each of tangerine peel, red peony root, and white peony root, 10 grams each of Linderae strychnifolia, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Cyperus rotundus, Citrus aurantium, and costus root, 6 grams of licorice, 5 dates, and 3 slices of ginger.

Second, surgical treatment.

Asymptomatic brain lipomas generally do not require treatment. Due to its slow growth and long course, direct surgical treatment is not recommended in most cases. Symptomatic treatment can be given to those with headaches and epilepsy.

Only a very small number of patients have indications for direct surgery. For example, those with obstructive hydrocephalus, those with visual and visual field damage caused by sellar lipoma, and those with tinnitus and deafness caused by pontine cerebellopontine angle lipoma may consider direct surgery.

The above is a summary of whether it is serious to have many lipomas on the waist and what to do. We learned that lipomas on the waist can be treated with both traditional Chinese medicine and surgery.
