How to remove tongue coating quickly

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the tongue is the master of the heart, and tongue image is a method of diagnosis and treatment of diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. By observing the tongue image, one can know where the patient's disease is. When we eat, food may stick to our tongue, causing the tongue coating to change color and become thicker. This is a normal phenomenon, but on the one hand it affects the appearance, and on the other hand it affects the doctor's diagnosis and treatment. Some people are also accustomed to scraping their tongue coating in the morning, so what are the methods?

Thick and greasy tongue coating is very common in clinical practice. Generally speaking, tongue coating is an external manifestation of stomach qi (digestive ability and state) and is the spleen and stomach function that we can see. There are several common changes in the tongue coating (stomach qi): a normal person has a light red tongue with a thin white coating. Judging from the amount of tongue coating: ① Thick tongue coating. ② Less tongue coating. ③ Flower peeling moss, etc. Thick tongue coating can be divided into: ① thick and greasy ② thick and not greasy. Greasy tongue coating can be divided into yellow and white in color. Generally speaking, a thick tongue coating means that the spleen and stomach's ability to transport and transform food is less than the patient's ability to digest the food he eats. And at present, the spleen and stomach's ability to transport and transform has not been significantly damaged.

There are three phases:

Stage 1: Thick tongue coating. (Not greasy, not yellowish in color).

At this stage, the spleen and stomach are actually unable to digest and transform food. Including ⑴ The spleen and stomach are weak, and even if you eat normally, you will not be able to transport and transform. ⑵ It also includes the spleen and stomach themselves are not weak, but are relatively unable to transport and transform due to excessive eating.

The result of the spleen and stomach not being able to function properly at this stage is the generation and accumulation of dampness.

From the perspective of Western medicine, the gastrointestinal digestive capacity cannot fully complete the digestion process. Including gastrointestinal motility, decomposition and synthesis capabilities of intestinal bacteria, etc.

The former requires strengthening the spleen and stomach as the main approach, and appropriately removing dampness to achieve a normal level of metabolism. The latter requires reducing the amount of food eaten to relieve the burden on the spleen and stomach, and medication can also be used to increase the spleen and stomach's ability to transport and transform food.

Prescription:

① Weakness of spleen and stomach is secondary, and dampness is the main symptom. (Note: This is the main and auxiliary)

Shenling Baizhu San is a representative prescription with modifications.

Prescription: 10 grams of raw Atractylodes macrocephala, 10 grams of Pseudostellaria baicalensis, 10 grams of dried tangerine peel, 10 grams of raw yam, 15 grams of raw coix seed, 12 grams of Euryale ferox, 6 grams of cooked rhubarb, 12 grams of Poria cocos, and 12 grams of lotus seeds. 6 grams of Amomum villosum and 6 grams of fried Gardenia jasminoides. Adjust the dosage of rhubarb and coix seed appropriately according to the degree of loose stools. Take one pack twice a day.

②The main symptom is weakness of spleen and stomach, supplemented by dampness.

You can use Jianpi Pills to add or subtract ingredients.

Prescription: 12 grams of Poria cocos, 12 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, 10 grams of dried tangerine peel, 10 grams of roasted licorice root, 12 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 10 grams of Bupleurum chinense, 10 grams of Dioscorea batatas, 25 grams of stir-fried lentils, 12 grams each of the three roasted herbs, 12 grams of Perilla stem, and 6 grams of Coptis chinensis. Take one pack twice a day. This recipe may cause slightly looser stools.

Stage 2: Thick and greasy tongue coating. (Not yellowish)

During this stage, the spleen and stomach's transportation and transformation functions further decline, and the amount of dampness produced also increases significantly. Reducing food intake will not restore the condition. Only medication can be used to remove dampness and break the vicious cycle of spleen and stomach dysfunction. At this time, the spleen and stomach are absolutely weak, and dampness has become the main contradiction.

From a Western medicine perspective, there may be corresponding changes in gastrointestinal motility, but this is mainly due to a significant decrease in the decomposition and synthesis capabilities of intestinal bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to fully consider the vitality and quantity of intestinal bacteria during treatment. (Increase the digestion and absorption function of the spleen and stomach)

This stage requires two steps of treatment: ⑴ Expel (eliminate) dampness. ⑵ Through the method of eliminating dampness (diuresis, defecation, etc.) , invigorating the spleen and eliminating dampness at the same time, gradually increase the spleen invigorating drugs according to the reduction of dampness, and at the same time cannot ignore the use of qi-moving drugs. ⑶This step is actually a continuation of the second step, which mainly aims to make the prescription a culture medium for bacteria in the intestine (strengthening the spleen and stomach) so that it can fully reproduce and grow. At this time, patients should be strictly required to eat a reasonable diet to avoid adding burden to the spleen and stomach due to diet.

Prescriptions: Mostly based on diuretics.

25 grams of raw coix seed, 12 grams of Poria cocos, 12 grams of raw Atractylodes macrocephala, 6 grams of cooked rhubarb, 10 grams of bitter almond, 10 grams of cardamom, 10 grams of Pinellia ternata, 15 grams of Plantain, 10 grams of Citrus aurantium, 12 grams of tangerine peel, 10 grams of lotus seeds, 10 grams of costus root, 10 grams of Magnolia officinalis, and 12 grams of Patchouli.

Gradually add 10 grams of Prince ginseng, 30 grams of Jiao Sanxian, 10 grams of Platycodon, 10 grams of Atractylodes, and 12 grams of yam.

Stage 3: The tongue coating is thick, greasy and yellow.

At this time, on the basis of weak spleen and stomach, dampness further increases and turns into heat symptoms. (There are often other bacteria proliferating), such as excessive Helicobacter pylori and Escherichia coli, etc. In terms of treatment, on the basis of the second stage treatment, it is necessary to add heat-clearing and dampness-removing drugs.

Prescription: 10 grams of Coptis chinensis, 10 grams of Gardenia jasminoides, 10 grams of Phellodendron chinense, 18 grams of Taraxacum mongolicum, 10 grams of Daihesan, etc.

When the tongue coating turns from yellow to white, it can be gradually reduced.
